We are now offering you an escape, our New Picnic Rides at Kingcup Lodge
In stunning countryside surroundings near Sprat’s Water, riders can enjoy the total outside experience. Winter, spring, summer and autumn bring spectacular changes to our countryside, and riding well mannered, willing horses makes that experience so much more enjoyable.
Situated in the countryside, Kingcup Lodge near Sprat’s Water, is close to Rookery Park Golf Club and a short walk across the railway line. Here you will enjoy the tranquility of the outdoors in our lovely lodge overlooking the lake, relaxing out on the decking or inside warming to the wood burner.
You will hack to the Lodge from Pakefield Riding School, have an hour to eat and drink preparing you for the riding, and then hack back to the Riding School. All in all, please allow 3 hours.
We have a selection of horses to suit different abilities and weights, although the maximum weight we cater for is 16 stone. Picnic Rides at Kingcup Lodge are available for just one rider or for groups of up to 6 people. All rides are varied and interesting and our surroundings change beautifully with every season so you’ll never get bored.
The 1 hour hack generally includes a walk, trot and canter around the immediate surroundings, walking down a country lane before trotting off through the woods or open fields for a lovely canter before making our way back after an exhilarating ride. For those wishing a more relaxed gentle hack we can take you at a slower pace taking in our beautiful surroundings.
Picnic Rides at Kingcup Lodge are available week days & weekends. Evenings are available in the summer months. Our clients are always escorted by experienced BHS qualified staff to ensure your safety at all times.
Group riding is organised so that riders are of comparable ability. Bespoke hacks for special occasions or so that friends and family with mixed ability may ride together can be arranged.
